mediaplex Wellington

The Film Archive in Wellington is home to the mediaplex, a coffee bar, reference library, cinema, gallery and research centre. The mediaplex hosts regularly changing exhibition and screening programmes.

mediacentre
The media centre is a combined coffee bar, screening room and information centre offering internet access and streaming video drawn from the collection. Visitors can also enjoy the Film Archive's narrowcast TV station, mediaTV, a continuous flow of information, moving images and sound. MediaTV also screens at the street cinema on Taranaki Street.

Theatre
The theatre is a highly specialised, flexible 120-seat cinema equipped for multiple film and video formats.

Screenings on Wednesday through Thursday nights offer Wellington's most diverse cinema experience. Highlights range from early treasures from the vaults of the Film Archive, to rarely seen New Zealand feature films, international documentaries and experimental video.

Gallery
The gallery is equipped to showcase the work of contemporary artists and emerging filmmakers using video and computer technology. The gallery also functions as an intimate second cinema and is host to exhibitions about the history and techniques of filmmaking.

Events Calendar
The Film Archive's Events Calendar offers Up-to-the-minute programme information and screening times.
