Viewing

Our headquarters are in Wellington but we take our national role seriously and work hard to offer viewing opportunities throughout the country.

The Archive Auckland is located at 300 K'Road and hosts a viewing and research facility along with a frequently changing exhibition space. For screenings in Auckland keep an eye on the events calendar.

The Travelling Film Show is active in regions around the country - from Stewart Island to Kaitaia and from the Chattams to the West Coast we have covered the country. Sooner or later the Travelling Film Show will come to your town. Check out the Travelling Film Show section of the site for information on how to host a film show in your town.

The medianet project was launched in 2009 and updates the earlier VHS model, Vaccess. Through medianet visitors can search and view videos at full screen, and at full length, from a hand-picked selection including commercials, music videos, documentaries, drama and animation. Find out where your closest medianet site is.

In Wellington the cinema runs four nights each week, from Wednesday to Saturday, and offers the city's (if not the country's) most eclectic screening programme. As well as the cinema, our Wellington headquarters house a gallery and two libraries - the medialibrary is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5pm, here you can few hundreds of hours of footage for free. The Jonathan Dennis research library is the place to investigate the Archive's documentation collection, it is open by appointment.
