Research

The Film Archive encourages research based on its collections.

Libraries in Wellington and Auckland enable researchers to view much of the collection on VHS and DVD. Specialist book and periodical collections are also available.

In Wellington, access to the Documentation Collection and viewing on film can be arranged and staff are on hand to assist.

For large scale projects, the Film Archive also offers specialist research services, information retrieval and private viewing facilities.

An appointment may be necessary to gain access to some parts of the collections and in some cases costs and restrictions may apply.

Researchers may wish to search the catalogue before their visit.
