Four lads, dressed up in their public school caps and uniforms, become cry babies when their Mumbles discovers Women's Lib and refuses to slave in the kitchen making any more spongey pud. But then they find Colmans Self Saucing spongey pud - it's all in the can - its delicimo taste leaves the boys happy.

I am the voice on the 'Spongy Pud' ad - John Dawson. The ad was actually written by John Hanlon. We both worked at Peter Jacka Advertising at the time. Bob Issell was producer. Reckitt and Colman's Joe Mathias was the client bold enough to trust us. Those familiar with the Small Faces album 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake' may recognize the creative influences. Funily enough I don't recall ever getting a fee for the gig - those were the days, eh!

Remember it well. I was the Media Manager at PJs that planned and bought the media schedule. The first of three times and three countries that I worked on the R&C business.
