"As for Till I Die, my recollection is that it was shot at the TVNZ Studios in Wellington. They used to do the whole production package - shooting, editing etc at, I think, no cost to the band.
We either flew or drove down from Auckland and it was shot in tandem with See Me Go. The SMG video was the priority shoot and I recall there was an elaborate set, smoke machines, cut outs on the floor which looked like light from a window. The Till I Die video was intended to be a more band performance based video.
The song has a march like, feel and TVNZ, never being one to miss the obvious, had all these military themes in mind for us. At one stage they had suggested lighting through helicopter blades (using an actual helicopter) to create strobe effects. Anyway once we got there it was a jeep, some flags and uniforms and we had to mug about pretending to drive and play! Whatever the final result was we never saw it - we were told someone at TVNZ had accidentally wiped both videos. We had to fly down again and re-shoot them a week later. Anyway the re-shoot of See Me Go took so long that we only had time to do a very simple mime to the track for TID and I think in the end it was the better of the two.
As to the original See Me Go video my recollection of the onset playback was that it was better than the final re-shoot but memory is like that." - Tony Drumm in conversation with Roger Shepherd, 2008
