Prominent members of the Progressive Youth Movement (PYM) reflect on their involvement with the group during the era of the Holyoake government and Vietnam war. Their often amusing accounts of political protests are illustrated with news clips and home movies. James K. Baxter and Tim Shadbolt appear in some of the footage which includes the burning of an effigy of President Nixon, disrupting ANZAC day ceremonies, protesting sporting involvement with South Africa and street theatre performances. Political scientist Rod Alley gives his assessment of the impact of the PYM.
