Assessment

Formative/practice assessment
Summative Assessment
Evaluation

Throughout the module students are encouraged to check understanding with peers and their teacher. Homework and class responses should be checked where possible to ensure all students are on board with understanding. The last two lessons provide the opportunity to construct an attempt at the end of year examination. Ideally this opportunity will be given again at a later date in practice examination conditions. It is an opportunity for the teacher to give direct formative feedback on the students’ work (see A process for using exemplar material)

Student Evaluation of learning experience
Self/peer/class

Students to check and share each other’s work at regular intervals during the module. Other student’s ideas are pivotal at all stages of this module to widen understanding of the topic.

A peer marking sheet can be helpful when asking peers to check each others work

Teacher Evaluation for future planning
What went well/What needs to change/Where to next

Some of the timeframes may need tweaking. It may be beneficial to bring in a longer text if the teacher has access, for example an episode of Outrageous Fortune, and to then use the excerpts to supplement this longer text.
