Lessons 13-14: Events

Element 3: Events are identified and described in terms of their features. Evidence is required for a minimum of 10 events, of which a maximum of four will be sporting events.

Learning intentions students are learning to…

  • Discover and record some of New Zealand's best known events.

Success criteria (How do students know they have achieved success?)

  • Students are able to describe New Zealand events in terms of services/activities available to tourists.

Activities

  • Students will each receive Event List.
  • Students will be provided with a list of different types of events available in New Zealand.
  • Students will research different events available in New Zealand, and then successfully complete the event list.
  • Compare this new knowledge to their prior knowledge of New Zealand. What new things have they discovered?
