  • Students are able to clearly locate and label 4 lakes and 4 rivers on a map of New Zealand.
  • Students are able to clearly describe key geographical features (activities and facilities) of 4 lakes and 4 rivers.

Activities

  • Students will each receive an Atlas, and a blank map of New Zealand.
  • Students will be provided with a list of 4 lakes and 4 rivers.
  • Students will locate and label those 4 lakes and 4 rivers.
  • Students will view the above film footage.
  • Students are able to clearly describe key geographical features (activities and facilities) of 4 lakes and 4 rivers..
  • Compare this new knowledge to their prior knowledge of New Zealand. What new things have they discovered?
