  • Locate and label 14 National Parks and provide a summary of activities and facilities available at those parks.

  • Students are able to clearly locate and label 14 National Parks on a map of New Zealand.
  • Students are able to clearly describe key geographical features (activities and facilities) of 5 National Parks.

Activities

  • Students will each receive an Atlas, and a blank map of New Zealand.
  • Students will be provided with a list of 14 National Parks.
  • Students will locate and label those 14 National Parks on their blank map of New Zealand, assisted by their atlas.
  • Students will view the above film footage.
  • Students are able to clearly describe key geographical features of 5 National Parks.
  • Compare this new knowledge to their prior knowledge of New Zealand. What new things have they discovered?
