New On Disk Menu for 2007/2008
Since the official release of the ON DISK secondary schools library in August 2006, the Film Archive education team has been working on new titles for the 2007/2008 year. The menu has expanded by 25% bringing the total number of titles to 40. The contract signed with the Ministry of Education will see the menu double over 4 years.
The first year’s uptake by secondary teachers has been outstanding, with first year targets achieved in 4 months and doubled within 9 months. New menu titles for 2007/2008 are as follows:
New English/Media Studies Titles:
- New Zealand Writers
- New Zealand Poets
- New Zealand Director Studies: Niki Caro
- New Zealand Director Studies: Peter Jackson
- Genre Studies: Documentary
New History Title:

On Disk programmes are available in English/Media Studies, History, Geography, Social Studies and Art/Art History. Visit the contents page for a complete 2006 library titles and subjects listing.
Coupled with the new disk library are extra components appearing on our Education web pages. The package available with each On Disk title web listing will include online teacher’s booklet, and in many cases one of a growing collection of excellent online units written and tested by teachers that align directly with On Disk content. See the Online Units page for the growing menu of support material.
The reassessment of titles has attempted to reflect more accurate linking with NCEA requirements, teacher assessment and the input of a new Advisory Group.
The new library is absolutely free (no hireage or postage levy), and when ordering online teachers can expect a package to arrive anywhere in New Zealand within 48 hours.
