Two Rivers Meet

In a joint presentation with the City Gallery Wellington, the Film Archive presents a screening of Two Rivers Meet / Te Tutakinga o nga Awa e Rua on Friday 18 July at 12:30pm in the City Gallery Auditorium.

This free screening of the 1977 film showcases Maori poets in the context of political issues of the period. Narrated by Rowley Habib, the film features Keri Hulme, Hone Tuwhare and Apirana Taylor among others.

Accompanying the screening, Apirana Taylor will present a poetry reading of his work, and comment on the film in celebration of Montant Poetry Day 2008.

The film by Richard Turner and Rowley Habib garnered great praise from critics and runs for 37 minutes.
