The Film Archive is happy to announce our extensive documentation collection is getting a new home.

As well as over 150,000 moving image titles, the Film Archive holds a large collection of film related documentation including books, periodicals, press clippings, ephemera, manuscripts, scripts, photographs, sound recordings, artwork and artefacts. This specialist collection documents the culture, history and technology of the moving image in New Zealand and overseas.

On Wednesday 28 May the official name of our new Research Library will be unveiled and the new facility will be opened onsite in Wellington.

We are very excited that from 28 April we will be able to provide greatly improved user access to the documentation collection in a purpose designed facility.

The documentation collection will be available for viewing on site and by appointment with a full time staff member on hand to assist on the second floor of the Film Archive building.

This library development was made possible by a generous grant from the combined Community Trusts.
